Spring Musical: Anything Goes

Our spring musical, Anything Goes, opens in just two weeks! Join us for music, dance, laughs and the age-old tale of boy meets girl. Speaker Series

On March 5 at 6:30 p.m., the WC Parent Guild will be hosting a speaker series event in the Duba Lecture Hall. Please join us for “What Every Parent of a Teenager Needs to Know About the Michigan Criminal Justice System” with West Catholic parent and attorney Michael Bartish. In his talk, Mr. Bartish will explain the legal ramifications of abusing cellular phones and other forms of technology. Keep an eye out for the Parent Guild Newsletter for more on this event and other diocesan programs for parents/guardians.

Falcon Awards Night Nominations

Each year, West Catholic presents four awards to outstanding individuals who have made an impact on the school and the broader WC community. These individuals may be alumni, staff members, parents/guardians, board members or other stakeholders who have a tie to West. Congratulations to Sara Zelfa (Medical Assistant), who was recently named PRO of the Month at Kent County Tech Center! Students are selected by their program instructors based on characteristics of Going PRO (Professionalism, Respectful and Ownership). Way to go, Sara!

2nd-Quarter Honor Roll

Congratulations to all of our students who were named to our 2nd-Quarter Honor Roll! Students are included in the Honor Roll if they earn a grade of B- or higher in each course (based on quarter grades only).

Aquinas College Partnership

West Catholic is thrilled to announce a new direct admission partnership with Aquinas College. This guarantees admission for students who meet the GPA requirement, starting with the Class of 2026. For more on this exciting announcement, CLICK HERE.

Selective Service System

Young men must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. If you do not register, you cannot qualify for job training benefits and many state and federal jobs. Don’t get left out! For more information and to register, visit sss.gov.

Ash Wednesday

As a reminder, our first day back from Mid-Winter Break is Ash Wednesday, and we will be celebrating Mass that day. Students, don’t forget to wear your Oxfords! Parents/guardians and community members are invited to join us at 10:20 a.m. for this special Mass.

Lenten Adoration

Parents/guardians, grandparents and alumni — Come and pray at the WC Adoration Chapel for one hour each week during Lent! Specific hours that we need the most adorers are Monday 10-11 a.m., Tuesday 12-1 p.m. and 1-2 p.m., Wednesday 9-10 a.m. and 1-2 p.m., and Friday 10-11 a.m. Please contact Patti Kohane at pattikohane@att.net or 616-889-5093 for more information or to sign up!

Senior All-Night Party

Senior parents/guardians—If you haven’t registered your senior for the Senior All-Night Party and haven’t paid, please do so ASAP! Registration remains open until March 1 at $150. The registration form can be accessed HERE. Money can be turned in via cash, check or credit card at the main office. If cost is prohibitive to your student attending, please get in touch with Brooke Shuff in the main office (616-233-5900 or brookeshuff@grwestcatholic.org) for confidential assistance. We are looking forward to a fun night celebrating our seniors!

ATHLETICS

Unified Basketball at Little Caesars Arena

West Catholic’s Unified Basketball team will be playing at the ‘Court of Dreams’ on March 20 at Little Caesars Arena! Tickets include a t-shirt, entrance to the Unified game and a seat to watch the Detroit Pistons vs Golden State Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this game are priced FAR BELOW face value. West Catholic has a block of seats reserved together and tickets rance in price from $57-$132. Ticket prices will increase after Feb. 20.
