Blessed Miguel Augustín Pro, SJ
House Pro was named after Blessed Miguel Pro, SJ. He was a courageous Jesuit priest during a time of religious persecution in Mexico. Despite dangers, Bl. Miguel Pro clandestinely ministered to the faithful, earning the nickname “God’s Smuggler.” Falsely accused of a crime, he was sentenced to death. Even in Bl. Miguel Pro’s final moments, he forgave his captors and bravely faced execution, proclaiming, “Viva Cristo Rey!” (“Long live Christ the King!”). He was beatified in 1988 for his martyrdom, inspiring many with his unwavering faith and sacrifice.
